Hi Jody. This should get you started on the aragocrete. www.garf.org there is a wealth of information about that stuff here and in the diy section of reefcentral. The best way I know of to cure it is to put it in your toilet tank so you get a water change with every flush. Of course the pieces have to be small enough to fit in there though. Another way is to put it in a milk crate tie it to a friends dock and chuck it in the lake for the season. Hope that helps.

I work with concrete every day. I've seen what leaches out of it. I guess if you cure it for a very long time it might be o.k. in a tank. No way could you get me to put it in my tanks. Just my opinion.

Ive made my own rock from chicken feed (crushed oyster shells from western feeds), its about $11 for 80lbs if i remember correctly. cured in the basement for about 5 months in rubbermaid containers with an air pump, just dont make them inside, as they stink once you start mixing. I cant tell you how good coraline algae grows on them, as i have absolutly none in my tank ( due to no real live rock, red sea salt, and Normal Output flourescents up till now).
