If it is ick, and u have no corals or inverts or snails u could put copper med in your tank but u will nevr b able to put inverts in their again.
But to b safe I would use kick ich, as it seems to b the safest med out their and it seems to wrk well, I would also sart feeding some garlic extreme with your food it helps boost the immunity deffences of your fish. Also steve, I know you r really young and all, but I would sart to do more reading about this hobby like I told you when you were at my house.
Here are some web sites to sart reading from
wetwebmedia.com
reefcentral.com
their is hours and hours of reading and research that all of us have or are doing by being in this hobby, we still do not have all the answers, b/c you must remmber that we are trying to recreat a part of the ocean here. Tangs usally get ich they seem more suseptible to it than certain other fish. Ich ius a parasite that fish get when they are stessed out. They may fight it off all on their own as well.

What are your water perameters? It sounds like something is off in your tank to have all these fish die on you at once. It does sound like your Tang has ich and a UV sterilizer would help out alot.

Try use a Q-tank for any new additions in the future. Also good for medicating ill fish. Would be better if you could post a pic of your Yellow Tang before you do anything. I would check all your params again as they can change fast on newer setups. The links Adie gave will have good descriptions of desease to help identify the spots. I have purchased some fish locally from all the shops which I would have rather watched a couple of days to see if they are healthy but our market seems to make us buy on impulse or you may not see another one for a long time. Good luck.

my last fish i had die from it was 2 months ago so i dont think its the same disease i gave my tank a break for 2 months before i got new fish so i cant see why anything would be wrong with my water qulatiy i just got the tang to so he could just of been stressed from setteling in so i am not jumping to conclussions yet. I probably will be buying the uv sterilizer though.

before buying a uv, definately read up on them, the only reason i say this is, the big guys calfo, fellner, both do not like uv's they say they kill too many good organisms in your water as kill the bad ones, and yes Gary I know u will disagree with this, but steve should make his own decisions, although they should b knowledgeable ones. I do not use a uv my my tank is doing great all my fish are nice and healthy I have passed the one year mark on it, and I am still in the hobby, all my corals are growing nicely as well.
