you can hide things in sumps such as heaters, carbon, skimmers, filters, etc. and increases water volume making a system more stable

Build your sump so that the water coming into it has to pass thru filter floss or pads then thru media such as chemipure, carbon ,denitrator, phosguard etc.this will clean it.im not sure what purify (boil)would mean cause pure water would not contain the basic elements require such as strontium, mag, etc and you would require these.

it is called kent Denitrate Sponge and sells for around $20 for a gallon bucket.Use some in a filter bag.It only needs changing every 3-5 months. It does a great job of absorbing all nitrates. I would recomend this product to all of you battling cyno.
Also you may be interested in the sera dentrator box.It is good for smaller systems. They sell these at cowtown . I used one for several months but my system outgrew it. I like the sponge more that this product as it is a put it and leave it product where as the denitrator box must be fed daily.
