I was just wondering of any had ever thought of doing this. If one of your fish were to "pass away" would it be harmful to feed its remains to the rest of the fish in the tank. In the wild I assume that this happens all the time... Any unforeseen problems with this?

I always let my crabs, snails, and fish eat the remains of my dead fish. I've also feed dead fish to my anemone. The only harm that I can see with leaving the dead fish in the tank is your animals not eating it quickly enough, thus it may pollute your tank. I have enough critters that they don't last long. Don't know if the live fish can get anything by eating the dead fish, but if the disease is contagious, the rest of the fish may already have it so I can't see why they can't eat the remains. Mine have always been ok
