I've got a 30GL FW at home that I was considering turning into A FOWLR tank. I'm wondering if I could use my MARINELAND Penguin Bio Wheel 200 filter, that I just recently purchased, along with some other powerheads for flow in the tank if that would work OK?

Does anyone use a power filter setup in their tank? How well does it work?

I don't really wanna go to a cannister or sump for this tank. Any suggestions....

I use a hang on aquaclear 300 for filtration on my reef tank, but I also use a fluval 404 for increased filtration. I also have 2 powerheads in my tank for increased flow. So far, all of my water parameters have been fine accept you get alot of bubbles introduced into you tank from the hang on filter and if you have a hang on protein skimmer. If you are not going to be using a sump, you should try to use a mechanical filter that moves as many gallons per hour as you can. Since your tank is 30 gallons, I can't see a problem with the one you already own.

I use a penquin on my 15 gal. seahorse tank. I just do more water changes than I do on the bigger tanks.

I would say Yes,i mean you'll still want to add a Protein skimmer and all that other fun stuff anyway's(depending on what you fill it with)...rite:icon_coolAnd by the way That 15 gal of Gary's looks great with that line of Filter!Should work 4 u!
